The Garden of Dreams Kathmandu has a varied history. Built in the 1920's, and originally named of ‘The Garden of Six Seasons’ (after Nepal’s six seasons), it was formerly a private garden for Field Marshal Kaiser Sumsher Rama, who requested an elegant, European neo-classical walled gardens complete with pavilions, fountains, ponds, pergolas, and verandas to accompany his sprawling mansion.

History of the Garden of Dreams
The extensive beauty of Garden of dreams attracts a lot of people. It was the then, most sophisticated garden of Nepal. It was originally built as a private garden in the 20th century by high ranking Rana field marshal, Kaiser Shamsher (1892-1964).The six pavilions inside of Garden of Dreams are dedicated to the six Nepali seasons, respectively Basanta (spring), Grishma (summer), Barkha (monsoon), Sharad (autumn), Hemanta (late autumn) and Shishir (winter). The area of this garden is 6,895 sq. m. Inspired by some Edwardian states’ gardens in England.

Garden of Dreams Ticket Fee
Garden of Dreams resides in the entrance point of a tourist hub, Thamel. Within the Kaiser Mahal complex, this historical garden lies making it a popular spot for serene and tranquility lovers. It opens every day to facilitate visitors with its serenity. It opens at 09:00 AM and closes at 10 PM. The entry charges for Nepali citizens is NPR 150. Similarly, for non- Nepali people, the charge is NPR 400. However, senior citizens and differently-abled people get a 50% discount to enter the garden of dreams.
